The town of Nice is an easy flight from London, and we have had a couple of short trips there. This film was taken on our first trip in 2002, when I was new to filming, and had little in the way of editing software. The film suffered accordingly, and I have only just got around to re-editing it.

Nice airport is just outside the town, an easy bus ride in, which is recommended as parking in Nice is horrendous, and expensive. If you want to sightsee, hire a car just for the day, and give it back before you have to find somewhere to park for the night. The town has a commercial centre, a tourist centre and an old quarter, the last two being next to each other and you can stay in either and walk to the other.

Another outing is up into the mountains west of Nice, towards and beyond Digny.

We hired a car and explored the coast in both directions, west to Cannes, and east to the Italian border at Menton. There are three roads east, the Low, the Middle and the High Corniche, go on one and come back on the other, and explore the hills from the high road as well.
