The GillianG Video Collection

This site is my way of sharing my films with friends and family, and with   anyone else who happens to find it. It has one off subjects that take my fancy, travel videos of our holidays, and some club projects, (see the video club link at the bottom of the page). It includes the story of how I came to have this as a hobby, (about me, link below) equipment I use, and so on. I started this site in early 2004, and it's still growing, so come back again later and see what's new. The videos below are just a taster from the complete Travel Video destination pages listed underneath, those pages also have additional information, and in some cases, links to other relevant websites.

I have recently updated the site to increase the quality of the videos, given the improvement in average web connections since I started the site. You may need to wait a a minute or so while the videos 'buffer', but it's worth it.

A sail round Capetown's Table Bay on this super yacht, Spirit of Victoria.

A walk up and down Krimml Falls in Austria, including the mountain stream in a high valley which feeds the falls, set to appropriately 'pastorale' music.

A stunning video from a wet day in Thailand

A ride on the Cable Cars of San Francisco

We had a weekend in Rome one January, and I made a short film about one aspect - just walking about the city and what there is to see - for my club's competition, and this is it.

My own personal 'Requiem' for Concorde, set to a version of the classical piece, the guitar is played by a friend of mine, and arranged by a friend of his

A trip to Cornwall, England. This particular video was entered in my club competition, and takes a slightly different form to the others, and for reasons that will become clear as you watch it, was simply titled 'A Cornish Quarry'.

We had a week on a canal boat with our usual friends in July 2004, and the Videoforums website had a competition for a holiday film to a given piece of music, so I made this for the purpose. In case you don't get the 'joke' , the title is a send up, as in this film, we do anything but Chill Out, it's one 'hazard' after another.

In reality, there were a few peaceful moments, but nevertheless, we finished each day 'healthily tired'. Some clips from the real video are now on their own page.

The Last Hunt? - Rather to my surprise my anti hunting husband wanted to visit a local Hunt meet on the Boxing Day 2004 which was the last 'normal' Hunt before the ban took place. I took along my camcorder (as you do) and made an informal record of the event.

The most spectacular sunset, in Sabah, Borneo, again set to music created by my friend.

The Gold Souk in Dubai old town

A journey from Denver to the Grand Canyon, and back to the Rocky Mountains, truly a Big Country!

This has to have been the most spectacular approach to any destination we have visited, Bali in Indonesia.

We spent 3 days in Las Vegas, not enough for a whole page to itself, here's a video of our trip, with reference to a previous visit 10 years ago, and the changes. The final sequence - well I can't claim to have filmed all of those shots myself, but there's unfortunately a lot of places the visitor can't take a camera. The place also lends itself to the music used in that final section, created by this chap, and I really enjoyed doing the edit.
